What's your favorite part about playing volleyball?
Hitting balls. Getting kills.

Taking people's heads off?
YES!

What's your favorite movie?
Glory Road

What's your favorite food?
Linguini with clams

What's currently playing on your iPod?
I've got 90's music, some Gorillaz, a little bit of everything.

What's television shows do you like to watch?
I like the Food Network

If you couldn't play volleyball, what sport would you play?
I wanted to be a gymnast but obviously that would never work.

What attracted you to come to NMSU?
I would have to say initially the Pan Am. I was thinking "Wow it's huge! This isn't some little rinky dink gym. This is cool!"

What's something about yourself that most people don't know?
People don't know that I'm actually shy off the court. I don't talk a lot.

What does being a leader on this team mean to you?
To me I want to be a good example. I want to help people when they're down. It's been hard. The vocal part has been hardest for me. I'm used to just leading by example, that's what I've done the past three years that I've been here. I want to leave an impression on the players and hopefully they take something and in the years following that they'll lead and be good leaders too.

What wisdom do you hope to pass on to the younger players?
Just to have confidence, don't doubt yourself. When you start doing that you start making mental mistakes. Mental mistakes are what kill you in volleyball especially if you're matched up athletically. If you're mentally messed up you'll probably lose the game.

What do you want to be remembered for at New Mexico State?
I want to be like the people on the walls, the Legends stuff. I want people to be like "Yeah, Amber Simpson, we remember her!"

What's your favorite "Coach Jordan" story?
I messed up my finger, I dislocated it. He told me when he was playing baseball he broke the tip of his middle finger and so every time he went to bat it looked like he was flipping people off.

What's your favorite team memory?
Going to Hawai'i and going on a snorkeling trip with the team.
