bleedCrimson.net's Know The Foe segment is back for its fourth season and we're ready to usher in the 2011 New Mexico State football season. We've gone inside enemy lines and recruited Joshua Fraley, an Ohio University senior, and the "eye in the sky" for the Ohio University Bobcats. Joshua has spent the past few seasons as the film assistant responsible for recording all the action at practices as well as on game days. Joshua has been filing daily reports from Ohio's fall camps on the official website of the Ohio Bobcats, OhioBobcats.com.

What kind of quarterback is the new starter, Tyler Tettleton, is he a drop-back passer or more of a dual threat quarterback?
Tyler has the style of a pocket passer.  He is an accurate thrower and has great footwork.  I feel as if the coaching staff will demand him to be varsitale with the ball though.  From what I saw from last years offense and this year at camp the Bobcats might be running some options during games this season.  

Coach Solich came from the Nebraska program, offensively does the team run much option, something that Nebraska was famous for? 
The option may be used this weekend.  The more interesting question is which quarterback will be running the option.  The Bobcats have another mobile and dangerous quarterback Phil Bates.   The Bobcats used Phil last year in a high percentage of their option plays.

Building on the last question, what can Aggie fans expect to see when the Bobcats are on offense and will the offensive change at all (i.e. be scaled down in this first game?) breaking in a new quarterback?
One of the main changes I have seen in the offense is how the plays are being called in from the sidelines.  The offensive coaches that give the signals from the sideline are dressed in bright orange.  The Bobcats also use the large posters split into quadrants that Oregon made popular.  Tyler, the quarterback, and the rest of the offense have made this transition easy.  The plays are communicated smoothly everyday in practice from the sidelines to the field. 

What can Aggie fans expect to see from the Bobcat defense in terms of coverages, blitzes, etc.?
This is something that I cannot speak more on just because of the way practice is structured.  A lot of what the defense does during practice is covering offensive looks that they will potentially see from their opponents.  If anything I would expect a conservative defense this weekend.     

What's the team's health status coming out of camp and heading into the first game?
The one major injury from camp that made the biggest impact on the Bobcats was Jeff King's injury.  He was one of the leaders on the D-line and now we must demand more from the younger guys on the line.  Jeff injured his knee early in the month and I do not know when he is expected to return.

Who are one or two players on offense and defense that fans should watch for, impact type players?
Offense 
Riley Dunlop- Great receiver.  He is a disciplined route runner and has some of the best hands I have ever seen from a MAC receiver. 
 
LaVon Brazill- Electrifying all around player.  He will make an impact on the offensive side of the ball as well as on special teams.
 
Defense
Carl Jones- Made many impressive plays last year and is back to lead the defensive line this year.  He will cause problems in the middle.
 
Noah Keller- Noah is one of our leaders that is healthy and ready to make an impact this year on defense.  Very mobile and can lead the defense well.
 
Who are one or two players on offense and defense that aren't starters but could have a breakout game for the Bobcats? 
 
I am not too entirely sure of the depth chart yet so I am not 100% if these guys are starting or not.

Offense
Beau Blankenship had a great camp.  He is a power runner that falls forward for extra yards.
 
Phil Bates- Outstanding athlete.  It will be interesting to see where the coaches will utilize him this Saturday.
 
Defense

Nathan Carpenter- I do not know if Nate will see time this week but has had a great camp this fall and proved that he can make a positive impact for the defense.
 
Your predicted outcome?
The two powerful defenses will keep the ball steady.  The Bobcats will win the special teams and field position battle and come out on top 13-10.
 
The Bobcats have an awesome special teams unit.  Paul Hershey and Matt Weller are both talented and will make a huge impact this Saturday.  Also LaVon Brazill will create opportunities for the Bobcats as he returns kicks and punts for the Bobcats.
