2008 Blue Ribbon Yearbook Aggie Football Preview :: Recruiting Class

bleedCrimson.net has once again teamed up with Blue Ribbon Yearbook to provide our readers with the college football's most comprehensive preview. Blue Ribbon Yearbook is considered to be the best and most comprehensive publication in college football.

It's not all about the long term for Mumme. He expects many of the 18 players in this year's recruiting class to play right away, including Paden and Scott at linebacker, fellow junior college standouts Colston at running back and Norman at offensive tackle and Davenport at place-kicker or punter.

Seven of these players were brought on board in December. The Aggies improved their depth with two
players on the offensive line and three on the defensive front. Four running backs were added to the depth chart, an area where the Aggies could turn to youth for immediate improvement. This team did not run the ball that well last season.

There were also four wideouts added to Mumme's army of pass catchers. There's plenty of senior leadership at these spots, but building toward the future is always in Mumme's plans. He took a similar approach at linebacker, where he signed three more players to his unconventional 3-5-3 alignment.

It's not something you see every day, but new defensive coordinator Dunn obviously wanted some help. As a result, the Aggies signed a defensive back, giving Mumme a wide array of talented newcomers.

"I feel we have addressed our needs and I expect most of these players to contribute immediately," Mumme said.
