Brynja Rodgers' Aggie Volleyball Diary :: September 2nd, 2008

While the weekend might not have been a sucess on the scoreboard it certainly was a win in terms of getting to know the new team and really getting to know each other for the first time. We lost in four games to the University of Illinois Illini and the Oregon Ducks, but pulled out an exciting four game win over North Caronlina on Saturday night.

This past weekend was a wonderful time to get to know our new teammates and spend lots of time together. Our new found chemistry seems to be a positive asset for the team this year. Everyone is getting along great, we are playing with passion, enthusiasm and heart which is more than most teams can say.

We have taken on seven new teammates this season, including five freshmen and two transfers. They have big shoes to fill with Kim, Bri, Jordan and Anna all graduated but they are doing very well!

We traveled three out of the five freshmen to this tournament and all three saw significant playing time, they played a huge roll in our win over North Carolina and we are very happy they are with us. Our two transfers: Erin and Erin:) are fitting in very well and making a wonderful transition! They also are playing a large part in our teammunity, chemistry and the winning!

We have five home matches in a row starting Wednesday, September 3rd and lasting until Sunday, September 7th. So come out and watch as we take on the Miners of UTEP on wednesday, followed by a few others of the country's powerhouses in Texas and Utah State!!!

GO AGGIES!
