WAC And ESPN Reach Nine Year Extension Agreement

WAC Commissioner Karl Benson announced the the WAC and ESPN have reached an agreement to extend the WAC's television deal with ESPN through April of 2017.

At least 16 football games per year will be televised on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU with all nine teams making at least one appearance on the ESPN family of networks. Men's basketball will have at least 12 regular season games televised on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU and at least one quarterfinal, one semifinal and the WAC championship game will be televised.

For the first time ever women's basketball will have their games televised on the ESPN family of networks. An average of eight televised games per season and in addition the WAC tournament championship game will also be televised. Also added into the new deal will be the televising of the WAC volleyball tournament championship match.
