It's always nice to spend some time with volleyball fans and the team.

I had a great time tonight at the Fulton Center at the 2nd Annual Volleyball Banquet. The ladies, as usual, looked spectacular. They were dressed up and looking sharp - and, as usual, we had a hard time picking out who was who.

Awards: Krystal Torres - MVP; Erin Birmingham - Coaches Award; Kelli Goodan - Most Improved

Now, onto some volleyball news:

Spring ball will take place in Tucson again this year on March 27th as well as in Albuquerque on April 4th. Those are the only details I have right now but I'll let ya know when I get more information. (Yes, the tailgaters will be in Tucson and quite possibly Alb.)

Teams to be on the schedule this fall - University of Illinois, UT, Notre Dame (There), Wisconsin and Central Florida. I, of course, forgot to ask Coach when the official schedule would be out.

Krystal Torres is off this weekend to the National Team tryouts. Cross your fingers and toes. We know she'll do great. I don't know when we'll find out the results.

Don't forget - Saturday morning at 8:45am at the Activities Center is the Adult Clinic. Looks like we'll get a nice rundown of rules and official calls as well as get to run some drills. I believe the team will be there so I'd like to take this opportunity to apologize in advance. I know that it's not going to be pretty.

Finally, on Saturday at half time at the mens basketball game, the Volleyball team will be honored and the WAC Championship Banner will be hung from the rafters. I wish we had the rings to give them but we're still short on fundraising.
