NMSU Volleyball Camp - For Old People!

Yes, that's what it was today at the AC on campus. Volleyball Camp for Old People. About 25 or so Aggie Fans showed up for the 1st Adult Camp hosted by the team.

It might sound crazy but as much as my legs and arms hurt, it was a blast. We started off with Chris going over the basics for us - rotations, what each positions does, defense/offense, and so on. As a fan, it was really great to get to know these basics. It's going to be nice to have that knowledge when we get into the season.

Then we ran some basic drills - digging, setting, serve receive, serving and so on. I have a new found respect for what this team goes through day after day in practice...and how tough it can be on the court. After the lunch break, we came back and broke into teams - 3 'civilians' and 3 Aggie players. I'm happy to report that my team came out on top of the 4 seed bracket...no thanks to yours truly tho. I think if I had a chance to really play, I'd be a setter. I really don't know how Krystal did it with those volleyballs flying at her. She made it look easy. FAR FROM IT!!

So, my thanks to Coach Mike and his staff and the wonderful and talented ladies of the Volleyball team for giving up a Saturday to teach us how its done. It was a pleasure!

Don't forget - tonight at halftime during the mens basketball game, the Ladies will be on the court again when their WAC Championship Banner will be hung. Please be there to support the team! Plus, I hear it's going to be a pretty good basketball game!
