DENVER, CO - New Mexico State sophomore guard Jahmar Young has earned first team All-WAC honors, the conference office announced Sunday, March 8. This is Young's first career selection, which is voted on by the WAC coaches.

The Baltimore, Md., native, Young led both the Aggies and the conference in scoring with 18.1 points per game. He shot 46.3 percent from the field, 42.5 percent from the 3-point line and 81.6 from the free-throw line. Young guided NM State to a 9-7 league record, which tied for third place in the WAC.

"I'm excited for Jahmar," head coach Marvin Menzies said. "He's made significant growth over the last two years and to receive accolades for his success is rewarding."

The Aggies, who are the No. 5 seed, open the WAC Tournament against No. 4 seed Boise State, Thursday, March 12, at 1 p.m., in Reno, Nev.
