Tonight the Aggie volleyball team takes on Utah State in the Pan American Center at 7:00 p.m. Tonight's theme is '80's Night' so break out those acid wash jeans, your Members Only jacket and of course, your crimson colored NMSU t-shirt (and if you have one from the 80s, all the better).

On to today's links...

Ferd Lewis of the Honolulu Advertiser writes, all Aggie volleyball coach Mike Jordan wants for his birthday is to beat #13 Hawai'i on Saturday night. The Aggies have a 40-2 record over the past five seasons at home, those lone two losses came at the hands of Hawai'i.

The Junction Eagle has a quick little writeup on one of their own, Wes Neiman, who plays for the NMSU football team.

The Press-Register has a few notes on Saturday's game between Auburn and NMSU. Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville says that the Tigers will be in nickel and dime packages most of the game.

Charles Goldberg of the Birmingham News says that Auburn fans should get used to seeing all those younger players on the field for the Tigers this season.

Ross Dellenger of the Daily Decatur writes that Auburn hopes that their 'rabbit' gets loose on Saturday against NMSU. What's this rabbit they speak of? It's code for their blitz package.

Phillip Marshall of the Huntsville Times says the Tigers better be ready for a heavy dose of passing on Saturday.

Ross Dellenger of the Decatur Daily reports that Tiger senior quarterback Brandon Cox may get more snaps in practice this week than freshman Kodi Burns.

Luke Brietzke of the Times Daily writes that the Auburn defense is looking to force turnovers against NMSU this weekend.

Philip Marshall of the Huntsville Times reports that Auburn sophomore middle linebacker Tray Blackmon will likely sit out against NMSU.

Evan Woodbery of the Press-Register says that Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville should have lowered the fans' expectations for the 2007 football team. I have to disagree with Mr. Woodbery on this one, what kind of message does that send to your players?

Tony Barnhart aka Mr. College Football (Atlanta Journal Constitution) asks, will Auburn struggle with NMSU (item number 5)?

Jay G. Tate of the Montgomery Advertiser says that freshman punter Patrick Tatum is living a dream. (Yes we had an article about Auburn's punter living his dream yesterday, this shows you how serious they are about football in the south. Even the punters get equal coverage)

I doubt at this point you're going to forget, but here's your daily reminder that this Saturday is Pack The Pan Am night for Aggie volleyball versus #13 Hawai'i.
