The NCAA Super Regionals will get fully underway today as the remaining eight teams square off. Be sure to check out our friends at The College Baseball Blog for full coverage of the Super Regionals as they've got reporters on site at a couple of the sites.

Yesterday the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced the nine District Players of the Year. Aggie shortstop Bryan Marquez was named the District Player of the Year for District VIII. The other eight players include this year's projected No. 1 overall draft pick pitcher Stephen Strasburg, West Virginia shortstop Jedd Gyorko who is also a finalist for the Brooks Wallace Award along with Bryan Marquez, Georgia first baseman Rich Poythress, Kansas State pitcher A.J. Morris, Minnesota second baseman Derek McCallum, Alabama right fielder Kent Matthes and Rice third baseman Anthony Rendon.

Marquez becomes just the third Aggie to earn NCBWA District Player of the Year honors joining Ryan Kenning (2002) and Billy Becher (2003) as the only other Aggies to earn that honor.

As we mentioned earlier Bryan is also a finalist for the Brooks Wallace Award which is given to the nation's top shortstop.
