The Daily Aggie :: 09/14/09

The Aggie volleyball team lost 3-0 to Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon to fall to 4-4 on the season. The Aggies were led by junior right-side attacker Whitney Woods who finished with 12 kills on 17 swings and just one attack error for a ridiculous .647 hitting percentage. Sophomore middle hitter Kelsey Brennan finished with seven kills on 10 swings with just two hitting errors for a .500 hitting percentage. The Aggies hit .235 for the match and .385 in set two but Notre Dame was equally efficient on offense hitting .287 for the match and hit .370 and .467 in sets one and two.

The Aggies travel back to Las Cruces today to get ready for I-10 rival UTEP who they take on a week from tomorrow (Sept. 22) at Memorial Gym in El Paso. The Aggies then begin league play the following Thursday night when they take on Utah State in the Pan Am.



The Aggie women's golf team kicks off their season today in Fort Collins, Colo. at the 2009 Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. The Aggies are looking to get off to a good start and send four experienced players and one freshman to Fort Collins for the two day tournament.



Be sure to check out the photos from Saturday's game versus Prairie View A&M. The Aggies picked up their first victory of the season but will need better performances from their offense this weekend when they take on I-10 rival UTEP in Aggie Memorial Stadium.
