Aggie Football Newsletter :: 09/28/09 :: San Diego Edition

Written By: Juan Lozano, NM State Director of Football Operations

Did you have a good weekend?

I started writing this on the bus back from ABQ, to Las Cruces.  Well at least I got started on it before I got distracted with my post-game fried chicken box and before updating the “Aggies Pigskin” Facebook page with photos from our trip up the road this weekend. (that’s a strong suggestion to sign up as a “friend” of the program… also refer friends to this list and to our Facebook page)

It was a great evening and it was moving to see so many Aggies fan in enemy territory in attendance.

Lots of ABQ Aggies were there, but I know that a lot made the three hour plus trip to ABQ.

I know that our friends at Buffalo Wild Wings and Maloof Distributing brought out a couple of buses to ABQ. Much appreciated. I imagine it was a good time.

While on the road trip on Friday, from the windows of our team bus, I spotted a few cars decked out in Aggies stickers/license plate frames, etc.  I was going to try and flag them down, but I realized that I would have been yelling and screaming inside of a bus.

There were lots of Aggies fans in the crowd, cheering us on and providing us energy throughout the game.

I’d like to bottle up that energy there and spill it out over the next three home games.

We need that every game. Each and every game. We need to make AMS a hard place for opponents to place.

The crowd was loud and after the game, our team went over to the band and the Aggies section to acknowledge the fans that made the trip up.

I can’t stress enough how much we appreciate that type of support.

We’re 2-2 and heading to San Diego. Are you going? This is the perfect road trip. Not that long. “Doable” in one day. Or it’s an easy and quick flight to San Diego from ELP. There’s gonna be lots of Aggies there this weekend.  Join them.

It’s the 1st time this year that your Aggies are “Leaving on a Jet Plane” to get to a game. Come meet us there.

And if you do go, when you leave San Diego, leave it how you came upon it.  And you are on your own for dining and entertainment suggestions. I can’t tell you where to go. It’s a LOCALS ONLY sort of town and I don’t want to feel the repercussions if word gets out that I told you all where to go. Can’t reveal local spots. It’s not my rules. I just have to abide by them.

On Saturday, what you need to do is tailgate in the parking lot………………………….
