Aggie Volleyball, Football Fall On Saturday Night

The Aggie football team lost on the road at San Diego State 34-17. Tied 17-17 in the 4th quarter the Aztecs drove down for the go ahead touchdown to take a 24-17 lead. On the ensuing possession the Aggies were forced to punt but a fumbled snap by Kyle Hughes resulted in SDSU taking over on the Aggies' 23. The Aggie defense made a stand and held the Aztecs to a field goal and a 27-17 deficit but on the next series the Aggies' quarterback Trevor Walls was picked off and the ball returned to the Aggie five yard line. SDSU punched the ball in for the touchdown two plays later and took a 34-17 lead and held on for the victory. The loss drops the Aggies to 2-3 on the season. NM State returns to action next week when they host WAC rival Utah State.

The Aggie volleyball team lost to visiting Hawai'i 3-1. The Aggie dropped the first set 25-21 but rebounded to win set two decisively 25-15. A back and forth battle saw Hawai'i win set three 25-22 and then the Wahine dominated the fourth set 25-11 to take the match. The loss drops the Aggies to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in conference. The Aggies are back in action on Thursday night when they travel to Boise to take on Boise State. The Aggies will then return home to host Louisiana Tech at 12:00 p.m. MT.
