The Daily Aggie :: 10/02/07

You may have noticed that on the right hand side of the page we've posted a quote from Coach Mumme. Hal requested during our interview with him to get the word out about their challenge to alumni and donors to match the contributions that were made of the past few weeks for the Aggies Are Tough Enough To Wear Pink fundraiser benefiting Cowboys For Cancer Research. We'll be posting the contact information for those of you who are interested in donating to this great cause.

If you haven't checked out this week's interview with Coach Mumme, we encourage you to do so.

Don't forget to vote for Chase Holbrook in the Davey O'Brien Award fan voting. Everyone has been doing a great job and Chase is closing the gap on Erik Ainge of Tennessee for 7th place. He's now only 52 votes behind which I know if you all vote, we can erase that deficit by lunchtime. After Erik Ainge, Chase is 230 votes behind Paul Smith from Tulsa. We can eliminate that gap by dinner time if everyone votes. So after you're done reading The Daily Aggie and this week's interview with Coach Mumme, vote.

On to today's links...

College Hoops Net has posted their preview of the 2007-2008 Aggie men's basketball squad. CHN ranks the Aggies as their #43 team (which if rankings translated seed-lines, it would give the Aggies an 11-seed). Their prediction? Aggies win the WAC and participate in the NCAA tournament.

Chad Crippe of the Idaho Stateman reports that the despite having three wins so far, the Boise State Broncos are not winning the turnover battle, they're minus 2 on the season, good for 84th overall (there are 120 Division I-A, FBS teams).

Dan Hinxman of the Reno Gazette Journal writes that the Aggies are hurting and if they don't have their full complement of players, the Boise State/New Mexico State showdown on ESPN could be a dud.
