The Daily Aggie :: 10/05/07 :: Afternoon Update

We're in the stretch run on a Friday afternoon so here are a few links to get you through the rest of the work day and into the weekend.

If you're a college football fan, this is a great weekend for you. Aside from NMSU/Boise State on ESPN2 on Sunday night, tomorrow's matchups are incredibly intriguing. You've got the Red River Rivalry (OU/Texas), LSU/Florida (Glen Dorsey vs. Tim Tebow), Wisconsin/Illinois (underachiever vs. overachiever), Georgia/Tennessee and Nebraska/Mizzou just to name a few.

Here are the links... gives their Fearless Prediction of Sunday night's game between NMSU and Boise State.

G. Christopher Terry of the Utah Statesman says that NMSU's comeback from an 18-10 deficit in game two of last night's volleyball match was the dagger through the heart of the northern Aggies.

Peter McEntegart has posted his weekly NMSU preview this time encouraging his readers to tune into the Aggie/Bronco game instead of their usual Sunday night show. Thanks Pete.

The college basketball season kicks of in a couple of weeks (practice at least) and even though we're still in the middle of football season, here are a few links to get your juices flowing. (Late August to early April is just the best time of the year)

March Madness All Season lists the Aggies' frontcourt as one of their 'Others To Watch' in their Top Frontcourt rankings.

They also rank Justin Hawkins as their 8th best small forward in their Top 25 Small Forwards rankings.

Herb Pope is ranked fifth in their Top Five Freshmen Power Forwards. He's also listed in their 50 Impact Freshmen at Power Forward.

On a side note, March Madness All Season ranks Utah State's Jaycee Carroll and Nevada's Marcellus Kemp as the 4th and 7th best shooting guards in their Top 25 Shooting Guards. Meanwhile, Gary Parrish of ranks Jaycee Carroll 20th in his Top 25 Shooters and Wings. And you thought we were kidding when we said we thought Jaycee Carroll was the best pure shooter in college hoops this morning.
