The Aggie baseball and softball teams both split their doubleheaders yesterday and both splits had some significance although both for different reasons.

The softball team's split came on a day when the Aggies dropped a second consecutive 2-1 decision before bouncing back to win the final game of the series 6-2. For the Aggies it was their first conference win of the season helping them to avoid three consecutive series sweeps. It was also their first true road victory of the season and the six runs tied for the most runs they've scored in a true road game this season.

The Aggies will face one more road test before returning home for a crucial three game series with Nevada this coming weekend.

The Aggie baseball team's split came in slightly different fashion as they dropped the first game of their doubleheader 17-2. The loss snapped the Aggies' 12-game winning streak which was the longest in the nation and equalled the longest winning streak in program history. The Aggies earned the split by beating Nevada 17-7 in a run-rule victory in eight innings.

The Aggies and Wolf Pack will play the final game of their series this afternoon at 1:00 p.m. MT at Presley Askew Field. The game will be televised on AggieVision.
