Fisher Named To All-TCL Team And Named TCL Freshman of the Year

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The Texas Collegiate League recently announced the 2010 All-TCL team with New Mexico State catcher Zac Fisher on the top of the list at catcher, while also being named Freshman of the Year.

Fisher, a 2010 Ping!Baseball News All-American, led the East Texas Pump Jacks as he wrote himself into the record books breaking the league record for doubles in a season with 17. He also became the second straight Pump Jack to be named the TCL Freshman of the Year.

"This was a great experience for me and I learned quite a bit," Fisher said. "I am excited to get back to Las Cruces and get back to work with the Aggies."

The NM State catcher also led the league with 34 RBI and he was among the leaders in home runs (4), hits (54), runs (30) and slugging percentage (.515).

During his freshman campaign, Fisher started 28 games behind the plate and came up with 11 doubles and 33 RBI. He posted a .634 slugging percentage and a .423 on-base percentage.
