Crystal BurnsLAS CRUCES, N.M. - Sophomore midfielder/forward Crystal Burns was named second team All-WAC, the conference office announced. This is her first career award, which is voted on by the WAC coaches, and the third in the Aggies’ two-year history.

Burns led the Aggies in game-winning goals (3), points (20), shots (40) and assists (8) in 2010. She also ranked second on the team in goals (6).

“Crystal did a great job for us this year,” head coach Michael Needham said. “She is a special attacking player and has devoted herself to being a more complete player. We are honored to have her receive this recognition, she played limited minutes early in the conference season due to injury, but bounced back well and I am thrilled that the coaches in the conference voted in her favor.”

Earlier this season, Burns claimed a conference award when she was named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week, Sept. 20. In the league, she ranked in the top 10 in many categories and was second in assists and assists per game.
