The Daily Aggie :: 11/04/10

The Aggie volleyball team is back in action tonight as they take on Fresno State. The Bulldogs come in to the match at 4-7 in WAC play and currently tied for 6th place with Boise State but hold the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Broncos by virtue of winning the two meeting this season.

The Aggies are firmly in second place at the moment but need to continue to win in order to solidify their hold on the 2-seed, first round bye in the WAC tournament and their potential at-large hopes.

Fresno State comes into the match hitting .167 on the season. They are led by Marissa Brand who is averaging 3.33 kills per set. Brianna Clarke is second on the team averaging 2.50 kills per set. Korrin Wild is third on the team averaging 1.78 kills per set. The Bulldogs average 2.31 blocks per set with Brianna Clarke leading the way at 1.28 blocks per set. Kelly Mason leads the team in digs averaging 4.61 digs per set.

This is a match that the Aggies want to win in three or four sets at the most. Fresno State is 4-1 in five-set matches this season. They're just 3-6 in three set matches and 3-6 four set matches.
