The Daily Aggie :: 12/17/10

The Aggie men's basketball team picked up their second straight victory last night defeating Oklahoma Panhandle State 78-46. It's the second straight opponent the Aggies have held under 50 points and it's the first time that's happened since the 2003-2004 season when the Aggies held Eastern New Mexico (44 points) and New Mexico (48 points) both under 50 points in succession.

The slate gets much tougher tomorrow night as the Aggies will take on Pacific for the Lou Henson Classic. The Aggies edged the Tigers last year in Stockton in the ESPNU Bracketbusters but as Coach Menzies mentioned earlier this week, that Aggie team was drastically different than the Aggie team that will take the court tomorrow night.

On a side note, we passed along the information that Jahmar Young was playing in Spain, that information is incorrect (thanks to Jim Hilley at the Las Cruces Bulletin for pointing that out and correctly locating JY). Young is actually playing in Serbia. Apologies for the misinformation, we were simply passing along the information that we had received from the coaching staff.

The Aggies have also gotten a commitment from 6'7" wing Temjae Singleton out of Woodland Hills El Camino Real HS in California. Singleton was also offered a scholarship by Utah and received interest from Washington, UNLV, San Francisco, Portland and Pepperdine.
