The Daily Aggie :: 12/26/10

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas yesterday. The Aggie basketball teams are back in action this week as the men's team opens up conference play at Idaho on Wednesday night and at Boise State on Friday night while the women's team continues non-conference action with a game against New Mexico in The Pit.

The Aggie men's team will be doing well to get a split on their opening conference road trip. We'll have more of a conference preview in the next couple of days but the Boise State Broncos are playing very well and could end up being the surprise of the league along with Hawai'i. Idaho is a place that has for whatever reason given the Aggies fits (both in men's basketball, women's basketball and football). With a depleted roster, it could be an even tougher challenge.

Jason Groves of the Las Cruces Sun-News that Wendell McKines has not yet been cleared to practice (to clarify his previous post on participating in a walk-through practice session).

The Aggies have won four of their last five games and have been playing good defense but got exposed a little bit by the Pacific at times and got really exposed by St. Mary's. We're sure the Aggie coaching staff will take the experience and be able to better the Aggie team. The Aggies may not see an opponent who runs sets as well as St. Mary's until they face Utah State who is a notoriously good half court offensive team.
