The New Mexico State baseball team rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to run-rule Hawai'i 18-8 on Friday evening at Presley Askew Field. The Aggies used a 13-run third inning to blow the game open en route to their 34th victory of the season.

Trailing 4-1, Ryan Aguayo would lead off the third with a single to center field. Zac Fisher would homer to right field to bring the Aggies to within a single run at 4-3. Bryan Karraker would single and score on a Ty Forney double to left center tying the game 4-4. Zac Voight would reach on an error and Argenis Paz record a bunt single to load the bases. The Warriors would go to the bullpen but Wes Starkes would draw a bases loaded walk to give the Aggies their first lead of the game at 5-4. Tanner Waite would single to drive in two more runs giving the Aggies a 7-4 cushion and Parker Hipp would single to center field to put the Aggies up 8-4. Ryan Aguayo would ground into a double play but Zac Fisher, seeing his second at bat of the inning, would single to score Tanner Waite from third and put the Aggies up 9-4.

After Bryan Karraker was hit by a pitch, Forney would single down the left field line to score Fisher and give the Aggies a 10-4 lead. The Aggies would load the bases again after Zac Voight was hit by a pitch and Argenis Paz would draw a bases loaded walk to put the Aggies up 11-4. Wes Starkes would be hit by a pitch to score another run and Tanner Waite would single to right field to score the final two runs of the inning as Parker Hipp would line out to end the inning. In total 18 Aggies came to the plate in the inning.

Hawai'i would score four runs in the top of the fourth to cut the Aggies' lead to six runs but the Aggies would twice in the fifth and twice more in the sixth to go up 18-8. The Aggies would bring in Scott Coffman to pitch the seventh inning as the Aggies looked to close out the run-rule victory. Coffman would get a pair of ground outs and a strikeout to preserve the run-rule victory.

Tyler Mack picked up the win for the Aggies going 6.0 innings allowing eight runs on nine hits. Zach Gallagher took the loss for Hawai'i as he went just 2.0 innings allowing seven runs on eight hits. Jesse Moore threw 3.1 innings allowing 11 runs on nine hits.

The Aggies out slugged the Warriors 17-7.

With the victory the Aggies improve to 34-20 overall and 9-14 in league play. The two teams wrap up their four game series on Saturday at 1:05 p.m. (MT).
