Quinn Adds Jill Shoquist To Soccer Staff

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State soccer coach Blair Quinn has hired Jill Shoquist as a graduate assistant for the Aggies. She joined the team after a four-year playing career at Arizona State.

"She played literally every position on the field and understands the system that we will be implementing," Quinn said. "She will be a big help to us."

Shoquist was a midfielder/forward at ASU from 2007-10. She helped the Sun Devils to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances in 2009 and 2010 for only the second time in school history.

Shoquist finished her ASU career with two goals and six assists in 55 career matches and 35 contests started. As a junior, she scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 win over Pepperdine. In her sophomore season, Shoquist led the Sun Devils in assists with five and started in all 20 matches. She was a three-time Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention selection.

Shoquist graduated from ASU with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology in May 2011. While with the Aggies, she plans to purse a master's degree in educational management and development.
