Jene Coppedge's Aggie Volleyball Diary :: September 6th, 2011

Jene CoppedgeHello again Aggie Fans!

Another long yet exciting week and weekend has passed for Aggie Volleyball! We hosted the Hotel Encanto Classic this weekend and had the opportunity to play some very athletic teams. We took on Grambling, Arkansas-Little Rock, and LSU. These were all very exiting games and excellent opportunities for our girls to be challenged and to improve on things we have been working on this past week. We made some big strides this weekend, but are still looking for more each time we play.

A big thank you to all who came out and supported! The environment was incredible to play in because of you guys! We really appreciate it and hope you continue to come out and bring your friends and family.

It is a short week for us here in Cruces. We leave Thursday for a tournament in San Marcos and will be there until Sunday, yet another long weekend of volleyball that we are all looking forward to.
These tournaments have definitely been quite the adjustment for our dear freshmen though. They have had to quickly master the art of time management in order to keep up with their studies in addition to all of our practices and travels. Surprisingly enough, they are all doing an excellent job of it. They look like the “typical college freshman” less and less every day. We are all so proud!

A little update on Bradley for you all…results are officially in and she has suffered quite the blow with torn ACL and meniscuses, and sprained LCL and MCL. As devastating as this was for her to hear, she has already started working and preparing for the recovery process. She has a great attitude and still continues to support us day in and out from the bench. Once she has her surgery, she will be back before we know it!

I hope everyone had a fantastic and safe labor day! Until next time… GO AGGIES!
