Jene Coppedge's Aggie Volleyball Diary :: September 19th, 2011

Aggie Fans!

I won’t lie…this weekend was a rough one for Aggie Volleyball. We were out in Chicago for the weekend at the Northwestern tournament. We played three matches this weekend; one Friday and two Saturday. Friday we took on Colgate and managed to pull out a win in four. Although we didn’t play our best volleyball we were still able to get the win. Saturday on the other hand, we were not as fortunate. We were matched up against Duquesne and Northwestern, both very good teams. We lost in three games to both teams.

What it boiled down to was preparation. They came out ready to battle and we didn’t. It was very disappointing for us to throw away those opportunities like we did, but it was a very good lesson to learn for our team. It exposed some of the weaknesses in our thought processes that we have never noticed before.

We will spend this week working to get better in our weak spots, improving our volleyball IQ, and changing attitudes in preparation for conference play to start up.

All of us girls are so pumped to have some time at home and be in class for the whole week! Everyone is looking get caught up on curriculum and just enjoy Las Cruces this week.

We will be back in action this Saturday at home, taking on LA Tech @ 7:00 pm. Hope to see you all there! Have a blessed week and GO AGGIES!
