Hmmm...sounds like an old Chevrolet commercial!
There's a lot to cover tonight!
First of all, the Pep Rally at the Mesilla Valley Mall was fun! The entire team was there as well as the coaching staff and some of the marketing staff. The team signed a lot of autographs - lots of girls were there and a few of them were volleyball players. One little girl named Haley came out with her mom and younger sister Emily. After drawing a wonderful picture of Pistol Pete, I introduced her to Coach. I think Haley may have been 5 or 6 years old but, at that young age, she certainly had taste - she was wearing a Chicago Cubs t-shirt. (Before you boo, keep in mind that Coach is a big Cubs fan as is yours truely.) All in all, a really fun time - highlighted by Amber Simpson, the magnet signing queen.
Tonight - many volleyball fans are preparing for the big day tomorrow. I spent the evening making up a few special items. Some were getting food and goodies ready for the tailgate. Remember - the tailgate kicks off at 2pm in the north corner of the Pan Am Center. Look for the blue canopy and gaggle of people. Again, we'll have the volleyball net set up and, judging from our last massive tailgate, plenty of food. Join in the fun - bring a chair and maybe your favorite beverage.
Tomorrow night, at 7pm, the Lady Aggies take to the court for their final match of the season. We'll be playing Fresno State. This is a big night - not just because its the last match of the season. It's Senior Night. I've talked about it before here but let me fill you in a little more. We'll be saying farewell to 4 outstanding student athletes - Kim Oguh, Briana Akrie, Anna Callis and Bleed Crimson's own Jordan Bostic. It's a wonderful ceremony after the game. The 4 are honored by the university, the coaches and their parents on the court. I won't say anymore because I don't want to spoil anything. Please make sure you're in the crowd for this event.
