LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State women's golf head coach Paul Brilliant announced the signing of a player from Houston area, Tuesday, Nov. 20.

Angelina Bortoletto (The Woodlands, Texas) signed a national letter of intent to play and attend school at NMSU. Brilliant was pleased to bring in the four-year letter winner from The Woodlands High School.

"Angelina (Bortoletto) is one of many good players from the Houston area that could make an immediate impact on our team," Brilliant said. "We really want her to be one of the first to come out of that area to come here and play for us."

Bortoletto has been part of a team that has won the district and regional championships from 2005-07. She was also the individual district runner-up in 2007 and won the district medal in 2006.

Her play has continued to improve throughout her high school career with a stroke average of 78.76 as a freshman, 77.33 as a sophomore and 76.91 as a junior. Bortoletto also led her team to a state runner-up finish in 2005 and 2007, while the Highlanders placed third in state in 2006.

She will finish her senior year this year before making her debut as an Aggie in the fall of 2008.
