Aggie Men's Hoops Throttles Idaho 78-54

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State men's basketball continued their hot first-half three point shooting and cruised to a 24-point victory over Idaho on Saturday night in the Pan American Center. The Aggies built a 20-point cushion less than eight minutes into the game behind six early threes taking a commanding 24-4 lead. K.C. Ross-Miller, Daniel Mullings, DK Eldridge and Kevin Aronis each hit threes during the opening salvo and the Aggies finished the game 10-of-23 from behind the arc.

Redshirt junior center Tshilidzi Nephawe flirted with a triple double finishing with 11 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks.

Idaho trimmed the Aggies' 20-point lead down to 12 at 31-19 with just over three minutes left in the half but the Aggies would outscore the Vandals 8-4 over the final stretch of the first half to go into the break leading 39-23.

The Aggies would come out of the second half and build the lead to 26 points five minutes into the second half following a Daniel Mullings three pointer. On the following play, Idaho center Ty Egbert got a slam dunk but was whistled for a Flagrant-2 foul after kicking Matej Buovac while hanging from the rim on the dunk. Following the ejection the Aggies would stretch the lead to 32 points on a three point play from DK Eldridge with 11:23 left to play.

The Vandals would trim the Aggies' lead down to 21 with 3:48 left to play but would get no closer as the Aggies would finish off the game outscoring Idaho 6-3 for the final 24-point margin.

Four different Aggies finished in double-figures scoring led by K.C. Ross-Miller and Daniel Mullings who each scored 16 points. DK Eldridge added 15 points while Chili Nephawe added 11.

Idaho was led by Mike Scott who finished with 12 points while no other Vandals reached double-figures.
