LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State swimming and diving head coach Rick Pratt has signed Brittney Moore to a National Letter of Intent, in the early signing period. Moore is a freestyle and individual medley specialist from Spokane, Wash.

Moore is a senior at Mead High School in Spokane, Wash., and she competes for the Spokane Area Swimming club and head coach Todd Marsh. Her personal best times include a 1:54.8 mark in the 200 free, 5:04 performance in the 500 free and 4:35 time in the 400 IM.

Pratt said he expects Moore to make an instant impact on the Aggie squad when she arrives in Las Cruces next fall.

"Brittany is a great person and we are very excited to have her be a part of our team," he said. "She will contribute immediately at the WAC level and will bring much depth and quality to our middle distance free and IM group.

"She can swim a lot of things and is a strong relay swimmer and is a team player and a hard worker. Brittney comes from a great club in Spokane and has had great coaching. It will not take her long to adapt to our training and I think she will improve dramatically in the environment we have."

Moore holds several team and Greater Spokane records. She is also a returning YMCA All-American and a top 16 national holder in her age group.

The Aggies return to the pool Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2:00 p.m., and they host Texas Permian Basin and Grand Canyon in a double-dual meet at the NMSU pool.
