Aggie Soccer To Face No. 4 Bakersfield In Opening Round Of 2014 WAC Tournament

The seeding for the 2014 WAC Soccer Tournament in Seattle, Wash. were finalized on Sunday with the Aggies earning the 5-seed after a 3-7-0 record during conference play. The Aggies finished tied Bakersfield (3-9-0) with nine points but due to tiebreakers were given the 5-seed as the Aggies lost the head-to-head matchup with the Roadrunners 4-2 last Sunday.

The first game of the tournament will match Bakersfield and New Mexico State, beginning at 4:30 p.m. local time (Pacific). The winner of the match will face host Seattle U on Friday at 4:30 p.m.

The Aggies head into the tournament as the league's third highest scoring offense with 22 goals and an average 2.2 goals per match while Bakersfield is fifth in scoring averaging 1.7 goals per match.

The match will also feature two of the conference's leading goal scorers as Bakersfield's Hedda Regefalk has scored ten goals and Aggie senior Jennae Cambra is tied for third with eight goals in conference play. Cambrae became the Aggies' all-time leading goal scorer this season (currently 21) and has also set a single season record with 13 goals and counting this season.
