Sorry for the late post this morning. The vehicle of the official wife of The Daily Aggie had a flat tire. Not good times.

Rivalry week continues tonight when as the men's basketball team takes on UNM. The Aggies have won three of the past four games in Las Cruces with the lone loss coming in the woeful 6-24 season. It's also the Aggies' second rivalry game in the past week and fourth game in the the past seven days as the Aggies played UTEP, Chicago State and North Texas in that stretch. The Aggies have shown flashes of dominance, the entire Chicago State game, the 1st half against UNT, the Aggies have also shown flashes of, well, the opposite of dominance, the second half against UTEP and the second half against UNM. The Aggies have also shown improvement over their early season struggles when they were playing against Ohio, Duke, Texas and West Virginia. We expect a good game and by good game we mean a win by the Aggies.

Congratulations are in order for four Aggies this week. Justin Hawkins was named WAC Player of the Week after averaging almost 28 points and 9 rebounds per game last week. Also, Chris Williams, Mike Martinez and Dante Floyd were named to the Second Team All-WAC football team yesterday. It's pretty impressive for Chris to get named second team after basically only playing half a season.

Be sure to check out our interviews with Coach Spence and Coach Mumme. They both had some very interesting things to say.

On to today's links...

Randy Harrison and Mark Smith of the Albuquerque Journal write even though some of the big names are gone the rivaly will still go on tonight. (Registration required, use the Trial Premium Pass, it's free!)

Ken Sickenger of the Albuquerque Journal writes that the UNM women's basketball team is still smarting from their loss to the Aggies. (Registration required, use the Trial Premium Pass, it's free!)

Richard Stevens of the Albuquerque Tribune writes that tonight an Aggie upset of the Lobos would give a boost to the Aggies.

The Sports Network previews tonight's Battle of I-25. Their prediction? Lobos 82, Aggies 74

Dan Hinxman of the Reno Gazette Journal gives his weekly WAC football rankings. The Aggies find themselves 7th on his power poll.

As we alluded to in our interview with Coach Mumme this week, the Warriors picked up one first place vote in the coaches poll, from Coach Mumme. Tony Barnhart of the Atlanta Journal Constitution has the details.

Pete McEntegart of the 10 Spot blog on FanNation gives his final Aggie football review.
