LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State University and the Sun Belt Conference announced the 2015 football schedule on Friday, Feb. 27, with five home games, two games versus the Southeastern Conference teams, two rivalry games and eight Sun Belt Conference games on slate.

Coach Doug Martin's Aggies open up with the first of two SEC teams taking on Florida in Gainesville, Fla., Sept. 5.

NM State then opens the 2015 SBC season at home versus Georgia State. The Aggies defeated GSU 34-31 last season in Atlanta.

“We are very excited about this schedule for our players and fans,” Coach Martin said. “The non-conference schedule is a great opportunity to move our program forward and to get exposure with two SEC teams and the two rival games.”

The first rivalry game is against UTEP in Aggie Memorial Stadium, Sept. 19. The Aggies head up to Albuquerque to seek revenge facing New Mexico on Oct. 2. NM State fell to the Lobos in a close 38-35 loss.

The Aggies face the second SEC team and third in two years when they take on Ole Miss, Oct. 10 in Oxford, Miss.

The Aggies head back into Sun Belt play facing Georgia Southern on the road on Oct. 17 before consecutive SBC home games versus Troy and Idaho on Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 respectively.

NM State goes back on the road traveling to San Marcos, Texas to face SBC opponent Texas State on Nov. 7 and to Lafayette, La. to take on the Rajun’ Cajuns on Nov. 21.

“Most importantly, we feel we can play with anyone in the Sun Belt Conference now and compete for a championship,” Martin said.

Martin’s team returns home to take on Arkansas State for the final home game of the year on Nov. 28 and wraps up the season on the road versus UL-Monroe, Dec. 5 in Monroe, La.

All Sun Belt Conference games will air on an affiliate of ESPN, including ESPN3/Watch ESPN, while UTEP game can be expected to be televised as well. Aggie fans can expect to enjoy Ag-Day, Homecoming along with other promotions throughout the year once again.
