Daniel Johnson Named NCBWA Hitter Of The Month

LEXINGTON, KY - Junior Daniel Johnson has been National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Hitter of the Month for May, the organization announced on Monday.

Johnson, a native of Vallejo, Calif., hit .437 (31-for-71) with three doubles, two triples, six home runs and 20 RBI in 15 games in May. While helping the Aggies win 11 out of the fifteen games, Johnson charted a .789 slugging percentage and a .468 on-base percentage, scoring 21 runs during the month.

Johnson finished the season hitting .382 (94-for-246) with 67 runs, 11 doubles, seven triples, 12 home runs, driving in 50 RBI and owning a .630 slugging percentage and a .434 on-base percentage. Johnson led the Western Athletic Conference with his 12 home runs, 94 hits and 29 stolen bases, and was named the conference’s Player of the Year.
