WACO, TX - Sophomore Karianna Knezevich of the New Mexico State equestrian team was tabbed the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Rider of the Month for September on Wednesday.

Knezevich, a Katy, Texas, native posted a perfect 3-0 mark in equitation over the fences in three contests – including victories over top-10 opponents from Baylor and Fresno State. In the team’s opening weekend at the Willis Invitational, Knezevich garnered MVP honors with a tight 83-82 win over Fresno State’s Alex Dirickson to give the Aggies a 313-302 edge in the equitation over the fences event.

Through three matches in September, she’s averaging a score of 80.33 and has defeated her opponents by an average of four points.

The Aggies travel to Columbia, S.C., next Friday, Oct. 21, as they square off against South Carolina.
