NMSU Women's Golf In 18th After First Round Of Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

BOULDER CITY, NV - Freshman Pun Chanachai leads the Aggies and is tied for 36th place heading into the second round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. As a team, the Aggies are in 18th, with 53 holes for par and 13 birdies, through 18 holes.

Chanchai shot even, 72, in the first round. Right behind, Kristen Cline scored a 73 (+1) and is tied for 48th. After the first round, the pair contributed seven birdies for the Aggies as Chanachai shot four and Cline had three of her own.

Camille Orito followed with three birdies to shoot a round score of 75 (+3) which puts her in a tie for 71st. Angela Xu shot a 77 (+5) to tie for 91st. Kennedie Montoya rounded out the group and shot a 78 to tie for 98th after the first 18.
NMSU fired a 297 (+9) on day one to put them in 18th. Only eight strokes separates them from the top-10.

Heading into day two of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Baylor sits atop the leaderboard (273), while Idaho (278) is in second, while San Diego State and UNLV (280) complete the top three.

Monday’s second round tees off at 8:00 a.m. MT.
