Kaur Named WAC Women's Tennis Player Of The Week

DENVER, CO - New Mexico State women's tennis junior Rimpledeep Kaur was named the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week once again on Tuesday the league announced.

Kaur has now won three of the last four player of the week honors after finishing the WAC regular-season with a perfect 5-0 mark in both singles and doubles play. She teamed up with Marie-Pier Thiffault for an undefeated run in conference play as well.

The junior finished last weekend 4-0, capturing wins over Grand Canyon's Tatum Prudhomme 6-0, 6-4 and Chicago State's Mariya Kostyuk 6-3, 6-3 at the top singles flight. Kaur then teamed up with Thiffault to first take down GCU's pair at No. 2 doubles 7-5 last Friday before mowing down the Cougar's No. 1 doubles pair 6-2 this past Saturday.

In total, Kaur has now won three player of the week honors in dual play and one player of the month during the fall season.

She has now won seven of her last 10 matches in singles play with just one loss and two unfinished matches to go with her seven victories. Kaur has also won seven of her last 10 doubles matches.

New Mexico State opens a three-match homestand beginning Wednesday, April 4, at 2 p.m. against Western New Mexico.
