Robinson Joins 2017-18 NMSU Women's Basketball Roster

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - The New Mexico State women's basketball team bolstered their roster for 2017-18 with the addition of transfer forward Baylee Robinson.

With the acquisition, head coach Brooke Atkinson said, "Baylee comes to New Mexico State with two years of junior college experience. Baylee is a skilled 4/5 player that can stretch the defense and will add depth in her position. Baylee is a New Mexico native and is very excited and proud to return to her home state to finish her career."

Robinson spent this past season at Barton Community College in Great Bend, Kan. While with the Cougars, Robinson averaged 10.2 points and 6.3 rebounds after starting in 31 of the 32 games she played in.

During her sophomore campaign, Robinson scored double-digits in 17 games. The impressive scoring totals included posting a season-high 36 points and hauling in 13 rebounds against Northwest Kansas Technical College, which led the team to an overtime victory in the first round of the region VI playoffs. The sophomore finished the contest 17-of-26 from the field surpassing the record of 16 made field goals set at Barton on Feb. 26, 2000.

As a freshman, Robinson attended Trinidad State junior college. In her rookie campaign, the forward averaged 6.6 points and 5.8 rebounds over 28 games.

The Roswell, N.M. native attended Goddard High School. As a senior, Robinson put up 10.6 points and brought down 8.3 rebounds per game. During the season, the forward posted five double-doubles.

Robinson comes to NM State for the 2017-18 season as a 6-1 junior that adds size and depth to the forward position for the Aggies.
