NMSU Womens Golf Finishes In Seventh At Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

LAS VEGAS, NV - The New Mexico State women's golf team completed the three-day, 54-hole Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown on Tuesday. After firing 288-290-301—879 (+15) the Aggies finished in seventh place out of 16 teams.

Dominique Galloway led the charge for NM State with rounds of 70-69-76 to finish at 215 (-1) to tie for 13th on the individual leaderboard. Maria Prado followed closely behind at one-over, 217, to tie for 20th. Prado also led the Aggies with 10 birdies at tournament's end and Galloway added nine of her own.

Kennedie Montoya fired 74-75-74—223 (+7) to finish in a tie for 43rd. Pun Chanachai shot a 73-77-75—225 (+9) which placed the Aggie in a tie for 54th. Freshman Tiegan Taylor rounded out the Aggie lineup with a 75-76-87—238 (+22) to tie for 89th.

The team winner was host UNLV with a team total of 847 (-17), followed by San Jose State in second at 857 (-7) and Missouri in third with a score of 859 (-5).

The Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown concluded the fall season for the NM State women's golf team. The Aggie return to action at the Bruin/Wave Invitational, Feb. 26-27, in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
