Tanisha Scott Named WAC Track Athlete Of The Week

DENVER, CO - The Western Athletic Conference announced its Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. After posting a stellar performance on the track in her first meet of the season, Tanisha Scott earned the weekly honor. This is the first award of the season for Scott as well as the team’s first accolade of 2018.

Scott ran a new personal best in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.72 seconds at the MLK Jr. Invitational. Her time placed her ninth out of 75 competitors and puts her third in the WAC for the season thus far. The senior placed 43rd out of 106 competitors in the 200-meter dash when she clocked in with a time of 25.54. She is also ranked third in the conference in the 200-meter event. Along with her individual races, Scott helped the 4x400 relay team clock in at 3:59.37, which ranks third in the league.

NM State returns to Albuquerque, N.M., for the New Mexico Team Invitational which begins on Saturday, Jan. 27
