Hannah Smith Named WAC Women's Field Athlete Of The Week

DENVER, CO - The Western Athletic Conference announced its Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. After posting season-best performances in both the triple jump and long jump, Hannah Smith earned the weekly honor. This is the first award of the season for Smith and the second conference accolade for the team this season

Smith claimed third at the New Mexico Team Invitational with a personal and league-best mark in the triple jump this past weekend. She shifted to third all-time at NM State when she recorded a mark of 12.01m (39-5). The junior also jumped a season-best in the long jump, posting a mark of 5.26m (17-3.25).

For its next meet, the New Mexico State squad travels back to Albuquerque, N.M., for the New Mexico Classic which begins on Friday, Feb. 2.
