DENVER, CO - NM State’s Fahren Glackin and Kayla Green have been named the Western Athletic Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for Feb. 5-11. This is the first-ever honor for Glackin and the fourth honor for Green.

Glackin, a senior first baseman from Honolulu, played an imperative role in the Aggies’ 2-1 record against No. 17 Kentucky to open the season, batting .800 with a hit in each game of the series and reaching base multiple times in each game. She also posted an .800 slugging percentage and a .917 on-base percentage. Glackin recorded four runs and four hits for NM State and drove in one run in each of the victories. She walked four times over the course of the series and was hit by a pitch three times.

Green, a junior right-hander from Tucson, Ariz., opened the 2018 campaign with a pair of wins over No. 17 Kentucky. She posted a 1.91 ERA, only allowing a single earned run in each of her appearances and walking just one batter. In the season opener, Green led her team to its first win over a ranked opponent since 2015 by pitching 4.0 innings while allowing only four hits and striking out a pair of Wildcat batters. She followed it up by pitching 3.1 innings in relief where she allowed just three hits, earning her second win of the season.
