DENVER, CO - The Western Athletic Conference announced its golfers of the week on Wednesday. Following a strong three rounds of play at the MountainView Collegiate, New Mexico State women's golfer Pun Chanachai earned the nod for WAC Golfer of the Week.

Chanachai tied for fifth at the competitive MountainView Collegiate with a 1-over-par 217. After shooting a 2-over-par 74 in the opening round, the sophomore fired a 3-under-par 69 in the second round to briefly take over first place before another round of 74 (+2) settled her into the top-5 finish.

The strong week also propelled the defending WAC Player of the Year back into the top spot in the WAC statistics with a stroke average of 73.1. This is the second honor for Chanachai as she earned WAC Golfer of the Month in October, followed by teammate Dominique Galloway earning the award in November.

New Mexico State women's golf returns to action at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, April 2-3, at the Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Ariz. to close out the regular season.
