DENVER, CO - The New Mexico State swimming and diving team swept the Western Athletic Conference weekly awards with Reagan Nentwich taking home swimmer of the week and MacKinna Hauff diver of the week after dominant performances at the Lancer Invitational.

Nentwich, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, won three individual events while also winning the 200 and 400 Medley relays. Nentwich dominated the Fly events as she picked up wins the 50 Fly (24.71) and 100 Fly (55.25). She also placed first in the 100 back with a time of 56.46.

“It is nice for Reagan to have some recognition for the hard work she is putting into her swimming,” said head coach Rick Pratt. “She is taking her racing to another level, and at the same time being a great leader for our group.”

On the diving side, Hauff earned her second WAC Diver of the Week honor of the season after sweeping the 1m and 3m events at the Lancer Invitational. The senior from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, notched a score of 254.75, more than 20 points higher than the second place finisher. She followed up her performance on the 1m board with another dominating win on the 3m board with a score of 249.90.

“MacKinna dove very consistently this past weekend in California,” said diving coach Miranda King. “On Friday, the weather was not ideal but she was able to stay focused and do what she needed to in order to come out on top. I’m excited to see what the next few weeks of training after Christmas has in store for her and the other divers. We are continuing to work hard every day and it shows.”

The New Mexico State swimming and diving team returns to the pool on Monday, Jan. 7, at 2 p.m. (MT) when it hosts Idaho at the NM State Swimming and diving Complex. As always, all home meets are free entry for every fan.
