The Daily Aggie :: 01/14/08 :: Afternoon Update

Despite this being a relatively slow week on the court (both teams have one game on Saturday), Sherrell Neal, NMSU's preseason Wooden Award nominee was named the WAC Player of the Week for her play last week. Congratulations Sherrell.

The other big news of the day is Hatila Passos' suspension has been lifted and he has been cleared to play. Passos will return to action on Saturday night against Louisiana Tech, a game which will also be the collegiate debut for blue chip recruit Herb Pope. Despite Saturday's game being one against an opponent who is 3-12 overall and 0-3 in league play, this is a game that is not to be missed.

UPDATE: ESPN.com's Charlie Creme has projected the Aggies as the WAC representative in the NCAA women's tournament in the Spokane Regional with their first round game against the Mountain West's Wyoming Cowgirls in Albuquerque.
