Galloway Named WAC Women's Golfer Of The Year, Bowen Named Coach Of The Year

DENVER, CO - The Western Athletic Conference announced its women's golf All-WAC awards on Tuesday with multiple Aggies receiving honors headlined by Dominique Galloway earning Player of the Year. Danny Bowen was named Coach of the Year while Pun Chanachai was named First Team All-WAC.

Galloway earned the Player of the Year award, and her second-consecutive First Team All-WAC honor, after winning the WAC Championship to go along with the third-best stroke average in the conference (73.9). The junior from Rio Rancho, N.M., also posted five top-5 finishes, including winning the Aggie Invitational.

Chanachai, a junior, received her third All-WAC First-Team award after she won WAC Player of the Year the previous two seasons. The Bangkok, Thailand, native has now earned All-WAC First-Team honors three times as she posted three top-6 finishes on the season with wins at the Mission Hills Invite and the Cowgirl Classic.

Bowen was named WAC Coach of the Year after he guided NM State to its fifth WAC Championship in six seasons in just his second season as head coach. Under Bowen, the Aggies posted five top-5 finishes with a win at the Red Rocks Invitational.

The Aggies now wait to find out which NCAA Golf Regional they will head to, with an NCAA Selection Show watch party set to begin tomorrow, Wednesday, April 24, at The Player's Grill at the NM State Golf Course with doors opening at 3 p.m. (MT).
