LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State head women’s soccer coach Rob Baarts unveiled the 2019 schedule on Thursday morning, which features 12 home fixtures, seven road matches and one neutral site contest.

“Our 2019 schedule starts us off with two home games in Abilene Christian and Wyoming, who are both very organized and hard-working teams,” said Baarts. “We follow up those home games with a challenging road trip to Boise State and Idaho State.”

NM State kicks off the season at home with a rematch against Abilene Christian on Aug. 23 at 4 p.m. (MT) before a noon home match against Wyoming on Aug. 25. Wyoming won a share of last season’s Mountain West Conference regular-season championship. The Aggies head to Boise, where they look to avenge last season’s double-overtime loss to Boise State, who also won a share of the Mountain West championship, on Aug. 30. NM State stays in Boise for a neutral site matchup with Idaho State on Sept. 12.

“We have a good run of home games following the Boise trip,” Baarts added. “These next six home games will give us a great opportunity to showcase our 2019 roster to our home fans. Another tough road trip to South Dakota and South Dakota State will be a great test before heading into conference play the following week.”

The six-match homestand for New Mexico State begins on Sept. 4 against Southern Utah at 4 p.m. The Aggies host Texas State for a 1 p.m. match on Sept 8 before Battle of I-10 rival UTEP visits on Sept. 12 for a 4 p.m. match. Arizona Christian heads to Las Cruces on Sept. 15. Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico, the third team to share the Mountain West title, comes to town on Sept. 20 for a 4 p.m. contest. NM State wraps up its homestand against Northern Arizona on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m.

The Aggies hit the road to take on the Yotes of South Dakota on Sept. 26 before a match at South Dakota State on Sept. 28.

New Mexico State opens Western Athletic conference play with back-to-back home matches against Grand Canyon at 4 p.m. on Oct. 4 and California Baptist on Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. NM State takes its first conference road trip the following week, visiting Utah Valley (Oct. 10) and 2018 WAC Tournament Champion Seattle U (Oct. 12).

“We are looking forward to much better performances in conference play this season,” Baarts noted. “Traveling to Utah Valley, Seattle U, Chicago State and UTRGV will make conference play tough. We are looking forward to our 2019 season and bringing up our RPI.”

New Mexico State returns to Las Cruces for a matchup with CSU Bakersfield (Oct. 18) before hitting the road to face Chicago State (Oct. 20). NM State plays its final home game of the season when it hosts reigning WAC Regular-Season Champion Kansas City on Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. for senior day. Then, the Aggies close out the regular season at UT Rio Grande Valley on Nov. 2, before heading to Seattle for the WAC Tournament (Nov. 6-10).
