LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State volleyball faced Grand Canyon at the Pan American Center on Saturday afternoon. The Aggies clobbered the Lopes 25-18, 25-13, 25-16 for their seventh-straight win.

NM State (15-3, 6-0 WAC) battled point-for-point to open the match but a three-point run that included an ace from Julianna Salanoa sent the Aggies to the media timeout with a 15-10 lead over GCU (14-4, 4-2 WAC). The Crimson and White held all the momentum and a kill from Salanoa put the squad ahead 21-14 before the opposition used a timeout. The break did not stall the Aggies and a service error by the Lopes put away the 25-18 win for NM State.

New Mexico State jumped out to an 8-3 lead early in the second set following a block from Ashley Anselmo and Megan Hart. Grand Canyon used a timeout but Natalie Mikels went to Anselmo for the kill to put the team ahead by six. The momentum remained in favor of the Crimson and White with Savannah Davison scoring to give NM State the 20-9 advantage late in the set. The Aggies posted a four-point run to reach set point but a three-point rally for GCU followed. Autumn Gentry snapped the run when the freshman went to Hart for the kill and the 25-13 victory in the second set.

The Crimson and White cruised early in the third set, taking a 9-4 lead following a kill from Hart. NM State continued to dominate before a three-point rally by the opposition forced the Aggies to call for time leading 15-13. Following the break, Hart tallied three-straight kills to extend the New Mexico State advantage and an error by the opposition forced GCU to take a timeout with the Crimson and White ahead 19-13. The stoppage did not stop the fiery offense with Halle Razo tallying an ace on the next play. With victory within reach, Brigette Lowe gave the Aggies set point with a kill and an ace from Mikels sealed the sweep.

The Aggies recorded 50 kills and .347 hitting percentage while holding Grand Canyon to 18 kills while hitting .039. The squad also tallied 47 assists, 24 digs and five aces. Hart posted a career-best 19 kills to lead all players in the match. Mikels notched 25 assists while Krysten Garrison led the team with two aces.

NM State heads to Kansas City and Chicago State. The Aggies face the Roos on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. before taking on the Cougars at 11 a.m. on Oct. 19.
