Roughly 60 minutes after he learned about his selection to the 2019-20 All-WAC Second Team, NM State men's basketball senior guard Trevelin Queen also found out he has been named to the 10-man USBWA All-District VIII First Team.

The only WAC player to see his name appear among the 79 All-District honorees from around the nation, Queen served as one of the Aggies' best players through the regular season. Hailing from Glen Burnie, Md., the high-flying guard has helped NM State claim a third-straight WAC regular season title so far this year and heads to Las Vegas, Nev., hoping to make a second-straight trip to the NCAA Tournament.

The Aggies' leading scorer, Queen has put in points at a rate of 13.2 per game so far in 2019-20 while also being one of four NM State players who average at lead 5.1 rebounds per game. Though a torn lateral meniscus caused him to miss five of the Aggies' 31 regular season games, that didn't deter him from generating a trio of 20+ point performances through the year.

In WAC play, Queen put up 11.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game while posting fine shooting splits of .524/.447/.850 in the 11 league games he was able to take part in. Not only has Queen been one of the Aggies' best threats on offense, he has been a terror on defense as well. Queen's 1.73 steals per game stands as the second-best average in the WAC as well as the 90th-best average in the nation.

With Queen on their side, NM State has put forth another excellent season thus far. Currently the Aggies' 19-game winning streak is the second-longest in the nation and the third-lengthiest in the history of the program. Included in that 19-game unbeaten run is a perfect 16-0 record in WAC play, making the Aggies the first team in WAC history to go 16-0 in league action and the third team in league lore to not suffer a WAC loss through regular season play.

Armed with the nation's fifth-best scoring defense (59.7 opponent points per game), the rv/— Aggies are headed to Las Vegas, Nev., this afternoon to compete in the 2020 WAC Tournament. The top-seeded Aggies will take on eighth-seeded Chicago State in the first of four quarterfinal games Thursday. Tip-off from the Orleans Arena is set for 1:00 p.m. MT with ESPN+ and the ESPN app set to carry the action.
