We're only a day away from the basketball teams returning to action. By now you should have a good grasp on just how important these games are for both teams. Right now the Aggie men control their own destiny in regards to winning at least a share of the regular season title and locking up the #1 seed in the WAC tournament. Win out and they secure at least a share of the regular season title, win out and have Boise State lose a game and the Aggies win the title outright. It's as simple at that.

As for the ladies, it a little more complicated, should they win out they will secure at least the #2 seed in the conference tournament. They will need a little help if they are to win the regular season title. Boise State and Fresno State are currently tied for first place with the Aggies a game and a half back. However, NMSU plays Fresno State twice in the next three games. Should Boise State lose one game and the Aggie win out, they would share the regular season title (how crazy would that be to have NMSU and Boise State share the title on both the men's and women's side) and we believe by virtue of their season sweep over Fresno State, NMSU would lock up the regular season title. Boise State split the season series with Fresno State with each team winning on their home court.

Be sure to check out this week's interview with Aggie baseball coach Rocky Ward. The Aggies are coming off a season opening series with New Orleans. The Aggies won the series 2-1 and scored 40 runs in the process.

And finally, we strongly encourage you to check out the Aggie Touchdown Club. We mentioned the Touchdown Club in yesterday afternoon's update. The Touchdown Club is headed up by head coach Hal Mumme and all donations go directly to the football program.
