LAS CRUCES, N.M. - New Mexico State head football coach Hal Mumme announced the Aggies' 2008 schedule Thursday, February 28. In 2008, the Aggies face five bowl teams from the 2007 season, as well as the two rivalry games and a Big XII opponent. All home games in 2008 will be played on Saturday's, after two Friday contests last season.

"I'm extremely pleased with the way our schedule plays out this coming season," head coach Hal Mumme said. "I feel our fans will get an opportunity to see some great football this coming season."

NMSU plays six home games in 2008. The Aggies' four non-conference games feature the Mountain West's Wyoming Cowboys, Big XII standout Nebraska and two of NMSU's biggest rivals in the Miners and the Lobos.

The Aggies open the 2008 season Sept. 6th at home against Wyoming. The two schools last met in 1953, as Wyoming won 47-0. NMSU then faces Big XII powerhouse Nebraska, Sept. 13, in Lincoln, Neb. The Aggies last meeting in Lincoln came in 1982, as the Aggies and Huskers have met just twice.

The Aggies' second road game is against I-10 rival UTEP, Sept. 20th. NMSU's last win in El Paso was in 1994. The Aggies then wrap up non-conference play at home against New Mexico on Sept. 27th. The Aggies are 2-3 at home against the Lobos in their last five contests.

NMSU then starts the conference season on the road against Nevada on Oct. 11th, followed by a home game versus San Jose State Oct. 18th. NMSU then goes back on the road for a match-up against Idaho, Oct. 25th.

NMSU opens the month of November at home against Boise State, Nov. 1st, followed by another home game versus Hawai'i, Nov. 8th. The Aggies then wrap up the 2008 regular season with two road contests and a home game, starting with a trip to Fresno State on Nov. 15th.

The Aggies then come home for their final game of 2008 against Louisiana Tech, Nov. 22nd, while closing out the regular season in Logan, Utah versus Utah State on Nov. 29th.

NMSU opens spring practice on April 2nd with the annual Crimson Bowl being held on April 26th.
